Introduction
The Rahim Yar khan city was blessed with a recreational club in 1951, which was named Sadiq Club after Nawab Sir sadiq Abbasi, who played a leading role for donation of the piece of land to the club by the irrigation department. Popular for its recreational and ideal sports atmosphere in the city, Sadiq Club is passionate about providing healthy lifestyles to the members. With a mission to cater to best leisurely and sports activities to its members, Sadiq Club boasts of ensuring a comfortable atmosphere in line with the modern lifestyle. Rahim Yar khan city is distinguished for its multifarious geographical features. The old name of Rahim Yar Khan City was Nowshehra, which was renamed in 1985 after the name of Prince Nawab Rahim Yar Khan of the Bahawalpur State In the year 1881, the Railway Authorities desired to change the name of railway station in the name of a town called Nowshera situated in Peshawar district. Consequently in 1881 to avoid any confusion because of similar nomenclature.
Rahim Yar khan boasts of its beautiful desert areas, natural parks, the indus river flowing through the area, and the National Highway passing through the city. Though Rahim Yar Khan City is basically an agricultural area, and excels in production of such crops as cotton, sugarcane and wheat and fruit as mangoes, it is speedily turning into an industrial city. Most notably the former President of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahayan had a residence built for him just outside the city, and is called 'Desert Palace' or Abu Dhabi Palace. It is now owned by his son and successors Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahayan.
